Unleash democracy by demanding non-partisan primaries where the top 5 candidates (regardless of party) advance to a ranked-choice vote in a general election. This is the single most important action to empower candidates & end partisan gridlock.

Today, almost all issues are discussed nationally; in reality, it is rarely required. The US was established as a Federation where States would govern domestic affairs. Let States decide/govern, especially when polarizing.

Evaluating politics is hard and polarizing because objectives AND specific success metrics aren’t outlined up front. Politicians & legislature need to outline specific objectives, metrics, & timing at the onset for clarity & accountability.

Generating income/wealth almost always requires your time, energy & to some extent, freedom. For this reason, income is as import as our Constitutional rights & thus, tax changes should also require a 2/3 vote to pass.

Taxes are the price of living in the US. The more complex, the more likely to be abused. Taxes must be simple & fair with no breaks/deductions – if it’s important enough to tax, all taxpayers should contribute inline w/ their ability.

So long as within the law, honest communication should be prioritized over feelings, political correctness & security. Suppressing free speech/press (or other rights), no matter how rationale, ultimately reduces diversity of thought and erodes freedom.

Attacks on the American way of life are attacks on America. The US must ensure we have both the ability AND resolve to protect and defend our country from physical, technological (hacking), economic, and intellectual threats.

There is no proof the US has “the answer.” Global bodies (and NGOs) exist to manage global issues. If an organization is broken, fix the organization. Interjecting as a single nation is arrogant, cost prohibitive, and dangerous.

The US must be realistic in the scale, speed, and feasibility of aspirations or all goals will be marginalized. Contentious national policies need bi-partisan, economist & historian evaluation & should be proven on smaller scales first.

Politicians are elected to represent the people, not flip flop on issues, have a long political career or live above the law. Regardless of party affiliation we must demand honest politicians who live amongst us, not above us.

There is a path to reunite our country: force policy to start with less contentious sustainable principles, fuel debate with fact-based independent thought, and demand politicians “compromise” on a logical government.

The "why"

Logical Gov was started because American politics are broken – we need a new approach:

  • We have lost appreciation/ understanding of formative principles and tradeoffs
  • “News” has morphed from objective facts to ratings-focused, partisan entertainment
  • Rhetoric and fear mongering have fostered blind loyalties and brought parties to the brink of irreconcilable polarization

Logical Gov aims to bridge the gap & foster productive, bi-partisan progress by rooting discussions in less contentious, sustainable principles (guardrails)… Vote, comment, share!
